Did you read something that made you unhappy? We understand how frustrating this can be. We have all been raised in an environment where asking questions and initiating open discussions on specific topics is often discouraged - so discouraged that other sites rush to silence free speech to ensure these topics are blacklisted so that nobody's feelings could be hurt.  As a result, these topics become taboo.  Because free speech is shut down across the vast majority of the internet, but not here, you may see content here that provokes feelings within you.  You may feel angry or even offended that an author brought to light one of these taboo topics. But, before reacting automatically, we encourage readers to pause and reflect. Ask yourself whether the material is truly offensive or whether it is simply challenging assumptions and pointing toward uncomfortable but important truths about reality.  Is the material well-sourced?  Meaning, does what is angering you come from a verified place (a Wikipedia page, a medical book, etc)? Or is it the author's opinion?  If the material is well-sourced, are you angry at the author for pointing it out?  Are you angry that the situation exists as a whole? Or are you angry at the original source for publishing the information in the first place?  For example, if an author publishes content outlining the harms of a medication and their references are three different medical books from the 1980s, are you upset that the author shared material from these books?  Are you upset that the books exist to begin with?  Or are you unhappy that someone challenged something you believe? 

We think we all can agree that progress does not come from silence and shutting down free speech benefits no one. In the end, truth is only reachable through open discussion and the willingness to examine patterns rather than avoid them.

As a library, we do not review, fact-check, edit, or otherwise oversee the creation of publications that are hosted on this site.  Each author is responsible for their own work.  If you locate a factual inaccuracy, you can compile the information into an email (ComplaintsAboutContent@Proton.me) or contact the author directly.  Please be sure to include which publication, which page of the publication, and what specifically the inaccuracy is. Include what the correct information is as well as a link to the source for the correct information.  We will then forward your email to the author in question.  Should they decide they wish to revise their material, we will upload the revised copy to the site.  We cannot force authors to make edits.

Keep in mind, every author on this site is doing everything on their own. Nobody here is a professional writer with resources behind them that are funding their work.  Nobody has copywriters, editors, graphic designers, etc. That said, people do make mistakes, and user discretion is always advised.  If you are seeking perfectly polished, professionally created material, it is best to read a site like NYTimes.com or purchase a vetted book from a store like Borders.
